Testing and Validation

Each new Hutchinson wheel design (in conformity with ETRTO and TRA standards) passes through virtual testing using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to determine its capabilities and ensure its integrity. Tests on radial & cornering fatigue or on the vehicle itself are conducted. Prior to production, each new design undergoes aggressive structural in house testing or by an independent laboratory, which qualifies the wheel design and its compliance with all customer test requirements.

The components evaluated for chemistry, hardness, ultimate tensile strength and yield strength, elongation and microstructure.

Dimensional checks are performed to determine eccentricity, run out, and localization.

Rigorous test standards which exceed SAE requirements, provide wheel design validation.
