Countermine VFI

Hutchinson has developed a new line of runflats called “Countermine” that offer greater protection against the threat of typical anti-tank mines found in use today.

Hutchinson’s Countermine is designed not only for military applications to protect the vehicle and its crew but it is also designed for rescue support vehicles. For countries that are recovering from war and natural disasters Countermine capabilities are useful.

Essentially, the Hutchinson countermine runflat “redirects” energy from the blast in a manner that reduces the typical “upward” blast pattern that would normally destroy a vehicle and severely injure its crew. Independent studies have shown conclusively that Hutchinson countermine runflats reduce these forces.

The countermine runflat incorporates state of the art computer technology in designing the shape of the runflat so that the blast pattern is redirected and minimized an additional 10% over the VFI.
